Arizona Leaders React To U.S. Launching War On Iran

By Staff Reporter |

Arizona’s elected leaders reacted along a partisan divide to the U.S. attack to liberate Iran from the Islamic regime.

Arizona’s Republican congressional officials have signaled support for President Donald Trump’s decision to launch a joint military operation against Iran, and called for an end to the partial government shutdown to ensure full funding for this military venture.

Arizona’s Democratic officials oppose the attack. They are looking to compel a vote on the War Powers Resolution, though all conceded their opposition to the continued existence of the Iranian regime.

Early Saturday morning, the U.S. and Israel attacked over a dozen areas across Iran, at least, including the capital Tehran. The attacks resulted from Iran’s failures to meet nuclear negotiations. Iran retaliated with missile strikes without success.

Key fatalities include several senior Iranian officials. The fate of Iran’s longtime supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, remains disputed as of this report. A spokesman for Iran’s foreign ministry claimed Khamenei was alive. However, President Donald Trump announced on Saturday afternoon that Khamenei was dead.

“[Khamenei] was unable to avoid our Intelligence and Highly Sophisticated Tracking Systems and, working closely with Israel, there was not a thing he, or the other leaders that have been killed along with him, could do. This is the single greatest chance for the Iranian people to take back their Country,” said Trump.

Trump said the bombings would continue until peace was achieved in the Middle East.

Trump urged Iranians to conduct a regime change in an address shared to social media early Saturday morning. Trump said the U.S. attacked Iran to eliminate threats to the American regime.

“I say tonight that the hour of freedom is at hand,” said Trump. “When we are finished, take over your government, it will be yours to take. This will be probably your only chance for generations. For many years you have asked for America’s help but you never got it. No president was willing to do what I am willing to do tonight.”

To the Islamic Revolutionary Guard, armed forces, and police, Trump advised them to cease their resistance.

“Lay down your arms and you will be treated fairly with total immunity, or you will face certain death,” said Trump.

Rep. Abe Hamadeh (R-AZ08) called on Democrats in Congress to end the partial government shutdown in order to provide full funding to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

Rep. Juan Ciscomani (R-AZ06) said Iran chose this escalation, not the U.S.

“Today’s action by President Trump sends a clear message: the Iranian regime’s aggression and destabilizing threats will not go unanswered,” said Ciscomani. “For decades, the Iranian regime has funded terror, attacked our allies, and threatened American servicemembers.”

Rep. Yassamin Ansari (D-AZ03) expressed reluctance to recognize Trump’s authority to launch a war without congressional authorization. Ansari’s parents came to the U.S. as Iranian refugees of the Islamic regime.

“Consistent with my previous votes, public statements, and the consensus in my district, I believe no president — Republican or Democrat — has the authority to launch military strikes of this magnitude without Congressional approval,” said Ansari. “I want a free Iran and a future of democracy and dignity for the Iranian people. Those goals must be part of a coherent strategy that does not risk chaos or another endless war in the Middle East and require seriousness and leadership equal to the stakes.”

Rep. Greg Stanton (D-AZ04) said none would mourn the collapse of the Islamic Republic, but that Trump was wrong for launching such an attack.

“[T]he United States cannot be dragged into another open-ended foreign war. Americans know the cost of conflicts with no clear strategy, no defined objectives, and no end in sight, and they do not want to repeat those mistakes,” said Stanton.

Rep. Adelita Grijalva (D-AZ07) accused Trump of entering the U.S. into another “forever war,” characterizing this latest attack as both reckless and needless.

“Taking the United States into a major military conflict without debate or the consent of the people’s representatives is a clear violation of Congress’s constitutional war powers,” said Grijalva.

Sen. Ruben Gallego claimed there was another pathway for the U.S. supporting Iranian regime change without going to war.

“Young working-class kids should not pay the ultimate price for regime change and a war that hasn’t been explained or justified to the American people,” said Gallego. “Strikes are underway and Congress hasn’t voted. No President gets to drag working-class Americans into another war without authorization.”

Sen. Mark Kelly, like Grijalva, questioned Trump’s promise of keeping the U.S. out of war.

“The Iranian people deserve freedom. They deserve the right to choose their own leaders. So, what’s the plan for what comes next?” said Kelly. “I don’t think Donald Trump knows the answer, and that’s dangerous when American lives are on the line.”

Sen. Kelly Spotted With George Soros’ Son At Munich Conference Amid Globalism Debate

Sen. Kelly Spotted With George Soros’ Son At Munich Conference Amid Globalism Debate

By Staff Reporter |

Senator Mark Kelly was spotted at the Munich Security Conference cozying up to George Soros’ successor son, Alex Soros.

The annual conference in Germany gathers policymakers and various industry leaders to discuss international security policy. Soros, chair of the Open Society Foundations, posted a picture with Kelly, as well as other top Democratic lawmakers.

Among the keynote speakers was Secretary of State Marco Rubio: his speech denounced “globalist policies” to include unchecked free trade and open borders approaches to immigration. Rubio said the Trump administration was focused on the “renewal and restoration” of America’s Western heritage by reversing on deindustrialization, mass migration, and globalization.

“But the euphoria of [the Berlin Wall] triumph led us to a dangerous delusion: that we had entered, quote, ‘the end of history’; that every nation would now be a liberal democracy; that the ties formed by trade and by commerce alone would now replace nationhood; that the rules-based global order — an overused term — would now replace the national interest; and that we would now live in a world without borders where everyone became a citizen of the world. This was a foolish idea that ignored both human nature and it ignored the lessons of over 5,000 years of recorded human history.  And it has cost us dearly.  In this delusion, we embraced a dogmatic vision of free and unfettered trade, even as some nations protected their economies and subsidized their companies to systematically undercut ours – shuttering our plants, resulting in large parts of our societies being deindustrialized, shipping millions of working and middle-class jobs overseas, and handing control of our critical supply chains to both adversaries and rivals.”

Kelly criticized this approach of national interests over the current globalist tendencies within international governance as destabilizing for the U.S. Kelly claimed that the U.S. has lost its allies under Trump.

“It took a World War and eight decades to build the strongest alliance that this world had ever seen. It took less than a year to practically destroy it. When Secretary Rubio said the ‘old world order was dead’ during his speech in Munich he was right. It’s dead because Donald Trump blew it up,” said Kelly. “This means these countries are looking elsewhere for trade and security — that makes you poorer and less safe.”

Also present and critical of Rubio and the Trump administration was Sen. Ruben Gallego; he spoke as a panelist on “Western Hemisfever: Security in the Americas.”

Gallego called the Venezuelan strike a “bad precedent,” which he characterized as “escapism of rules-based order.” Gallego criticized Trump’s approach to Latin America, arguing the U.S. should have increased capital there to compete with China.

“Our relationship with Latin America does not have to take one of a defensive posture. We have aligned interests of keeping China out,” said Gallego. “We need to have another entity, another region that is just as powerful as the European Union to help us counterbalance the market that China gets to command. Going into the future, if we don’t have a prosperous Latin America, and a prosperous European Union, and a prosperous United States, we’re not going to be able to meet the demands of China.”

Gallego predicted a regime change in Cuba would come next.

Rep. Yassamin Ansari spoke as a panelist on “Under Reconstruction: A World Order for the Next Generation.” Much of her remarks were critiques of the Trump administration.

Ansari said the U.S. has done “not enough” for younger generations to provide “transformational change.” Ansari said the Trump administration was the “most corrupt and authoritarian administration in United States history.” Ansari said climate policies needed to be more aggressive than the Paris Climate Accords.

Ansari said it wasn’t necessary to “fix” things at home before approaching fixes for a world order. She said her ideal administrations going forward would implement a wealth tax, abolish all immigration enforcement, and subsidize health care, homeownership, and childcare.

No Republicans representing Arizona were scheduled to speak at the conference.

Rep. Ansari Continues To Provide Constituent Services To Illegal Immigrants During Shutdown

Rep. Ansari Continues To Provide Constituent Services To Illegal Immigrants During Shutdown

By Staff Reporter |

Congresswoman Yassamin Ansari is continuing to dedicate her limited constituent-services capacity during the shutdown to illegal immigrants.

Ansari maintains these individuals qualify as constituents, though they aren’t voting members of the district.

The congresswoman says one of the detained immigrants she visited, Arbella “Yari” Rodriguez Marquez, counts as a constituent because she had a green card until recently. Marquez’s case has been picked up by the media due to her alleged ongoing cancer battle.

Green card holders cannot vote.

Immigration enforcement spokespersons announced over the summer, following heightened media attention, that Marquez doesn’t have cancer and that medical professionals had assisted her over a dozen times since her detainment in February.

“[W]hen she was arrested by @CBP for attempting to smuggle an illegal alien with fraudulent identification in her vehicle through the Nogales, Arizona port of entry, she told law enforcement she had no medical conditions and was not taking any medications,” said Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin.

Marquez claims to have chronic lymphocytic leukemia.

In her last visit with Marquez, which lasted hours, Ansari revealed Marquez was allegedly visited by an oncologist on Oct. 8 but has not yet received the results or treatment plan from that visit. According to Ansari, the records from that visit will be delivered within the next two weeks.

Ansari did acknowledge the officials’ claim that Marquez doesn’t have cancer.

“Quite frankly, a lot of questioning, a lot of character assassination of Yari, the woman that was there with us insinuated there may be some doubt about her cancer from doctors and so they want her medical records from Mexico and from here,” said Ansari.

Officials also clarified that Marquez lost her green card and was detained for removal proceedings based on charges of human smuggling.

The congresswoman devoted the remainder of her time to pointing the finger at Republican leadership.

Ansari set up a table in front of House Speaker Mike Johnson’s office. A handmade sign taped to the tablefront read: “Mike Johnson is starving families and gutting healthcare to cover up the Epstein files; change my mind.”

This claim of an Epstein files coverup is the Democrats’ latest talking point to pressure Republicans to agree to their terms for ending the government shutdown.

Ansari later claimed she was asked to vacate her makeshift post outside Johnson’s office.

The government shutdown has now lasted nearly 40 days. It broke the historical record for the longest shutdown officially on Wednesday. The December 2018 to January 2019 shutdown lasted 35 days. The third-longest shutdown occurred under President Bill Clinton from December 1995 to January 1996, 21 days.

Senate Majority Leader John Thune indicated on Wednesday to reporters that they have nearly closed on a bipartisan “mini-package” deal for stopgap funding that would pay the select federal agencies necessary to end the shutdown.

Anonymized leaks to the press said a Friday vote would occur. Allegedly, Thune told fellow Republicans the Senate would take the necessary steps to end the shutdown on Friday, according to anonymous sources who spoke to Politico.

However, other source chatter indicated that Democrats felt more secure with prolonging a shutdown to negotiate stricter terms in their favor after the most recent election on Tuesday.

The shutdown’s impact to Arizona amounts to just under $300 million each week, or $1.3 billion per month. About 887,000 Arizonans rely on the SNAP benefits that dried up last week, 344,000 of whom are children. Around 58,000 federal workers in the state were furloughed or are working without pay.

Rep. Ansari Under Fire For Calling Foreign Nationals In ICE Custody Her ‘Constituents’

Rep. Ansari Under Fire For Calling Foreign Nationals In ICE Custody Her ‘Constituents’

By Matthew Holloway |

On Saturday, in a video recorded at the ICE Eloy Detention Center, Arizona Congresswoman Yassamin Ansari (D-AZ03) again falsely described the illegal aliens held there as her “constituents.”

In the political spectacle, a repeat of Ansari’s controversial visit in July, the congresswoman accused the facility of holding her “constituents, who are trapped inside,” claiming there is “dehumanizing, racist, unacceptable treatment happening inside the Eloy Detention Center that is run by a private company called Core Civic.”

Ansari cited the ongoing case of a foreign national known as ‘Yari,’ identified by ABC15 as Arbella Rodríguez Márquez. Yari is a U.S resident whose green card was revoked after being denied parole on human smuggling charges in July and suffers from Leukemia.

Ansari claimed that Rodríguez Márquez has not received “proper medical treatment,” however, these allegations have been repeatedly refuted by the Department of Homeland Security DHS. Assistant Secretary of the DHS Tricia McLaughlin stated in a post to X:

In her remarks, Ansari said that “the accusations against [Rodríguez Márquez] are egregious,” and that she “was a green-card holder.” But she continues to refer to the foreign national as a “constituent,” despite a statement from a DHS spokesman in July that firmly rejects Ansari’s allegations and Rodríguez Márquez’s misrepresented status as the congresswoman’s “constituent.”

After Ansari claimed that she was denied access to the Eloy Detention Center in July, a DHS spokesman told 12News:

“Allegations that Congresswoman Ansari was denied access to the Eloy Detention Facility are FALSE. After being told that Ansari would be unable to speak with detainees—illegal aliens, not constituents—she did not even show up or have the courtesy to send a cancellation notice to ICE.

“While ICE law enforcement officers face an 830% increase in assaults against them, Congresswoman Ansari is has demonized ICE law enforcement in the past—calling them a ‘military force hell bent on terrorizing immigrant communities.’

“Any claim that there are subprime conditions at ICE detention centers are FALSE. All detainees are provided with proper meals, medical treatment, and have opportunities to communicate with their family members and lawyers. Ensuring the safety, security, and well-being of individuals in our custody is a top priority at ICE. ICE has higher detention standards than most U.S. prisons that hold actual U.S. citizens.”

As a legal resident in the United States and not a citizen, even before the revocation of her residency, Rodríguez Márquez was unable to vote in U.S. federal elections legally. Following the revocation of her residency, her legal status reverted to that of a foreign national in the U.S. illegally or an illegal alien and a detainee.

Libs of TikTok observed the discrepancy in a post to X writing, “Rep Yassamin Ansari (D-AZ) says she has ‘many constituents’ who are in ICE detention facilities[.] Why do you have ‘constituents’ who are in our country illegally @RepYassAnsari?? Does @RepYassAnsari care this much about her actual constituents who are American citizens?”

Rep. Ciscomani Introduces Bill To Honor Late Congressman Jim Kolbe With Post Office Naming

Rep. Ciscomani Introduces Bill To Honor Late Congressman Jim Kolbe With Post Office Naming

By Ethan Faverino |

U.S Congressman Juan Ciscomani (R-AZ) has reintroduced H.R. 4235. This is a bipartisan bill to designate the United States Postal Service facility at 100 N. Taylor Lane in Patagonia, Arizona, as the Jim Kolbe Memorial Post Office.

The reintroduction aligns with what would have been former Congressman Jim Kolbe’s 83rd birthday on June 28, 2025. Congressman Kolbe passed away on December 3, 2020.

The bipartisan effort is co-sponsored by Representatives Abe Hamadeh (R-AZ), David Schweikert (R-AZ), Greg Stanton (D-AZ), and Yassamin Ansari (D-AZ).

This legislation was introduced in the 119th Congress, 1st session and referred to the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability.

The bill includes two key provisions:

  1. That the post office at 100 N. Taylor Lane in Patagonia, Arizona, will be officially named the Jim Kolbe Memorial Post Office.
  2. That any mention of the facility in laws, maps, regulations, documents, or other U.S. records will reflect its new designation as the Jim Kolbe Memorial Post Office.

Jim Kolbe, a native of Patagonia, represented southeastern Arizona in Congress for 11 terms from 1985 to 2007.

Prior to Congress, Kolbe served in the Arizona State Senate from 1977 to 1982 and began his career as a U.S. House page.

He was also a Navy veteran who served from 1967 to 1977 including in Vietnam.

Congressman Kolbe was a respected statesman known for his leadership on the House Appropriations Committee, where he was the chairman of one of its 12 subcommittees.

Congressman Ciscomani praised the former Congressman by saying, “Jim Kolbe lived a life of service dedicated to not only our state but our country as a whole. He was a Navy veteran who represented Arizona as a true statesman, leading in foreign affairs, trade, and fiscal discipline, while staying true to his values. He continues to inspire my own service in Congress and his impactful leadership will long be remembered.”
